Short Bio

Raised in California, I spent most of my time growing up near the beach, which has been a heavy influence on my life and attitude. I got my start in web development when I began coding as a young teen, styling websites with GeoCities, eventually begging my mom to buy me my first HTML/CSS book. Everything tech has been my passion since.

Experience

I have been a professional web developer & designer since 2004 working in various different capacities, across teams of various sizes and on an assortment of projects, some related to software engineer, websites, brainstorming new ideas of apps and others are in the realm of design or entertainment.

I proudly call the University of Massachusetts my alma mater. In addition to freelance work, I used to be one of the developers/software engineers at The Getty for over five years. I'm currently a senior frontend developer, mentor and instructor for University of Oregon

My knowledge includes programming, databases, scripting, testing, debugging and working with various operating systems (Windows, Linux and Mac OS X).

Other Interests

Non-web related - I've been messing around in electrical & mechinal engineering and playing around with Arduinos & Raspberry Pis. I've also started to dabble in Unity and have been making my own video games - exciting!

Some areas that I've been interested in working on that are not related to technology are working on my Japanese, improving my garden, cooking, being with friends & family, music and going on fun adventures with my significant other.
